This Kickstarter is priced in Canadian dollars because our Kobold-in-Chief now resides in Canada and personally manages the setup and administration of our Kickstarter campaigns, which requires pricing in CAD. The Canadian branch of the company is Kobold Game Studios Limited.
This does not reflect a price increase, and there are no changes to shipping—US fulfillment is still handled from the United States.

Is Night Hunters playable with 5E D&D?
Yes. Night Hunters is written for Tales of the Valiant RPG, which is fully compatible with D&D 5E. You can use Night Hunters with your existing 5E rules and characters directly with these options and adventures.

Are the Spirit Board playmat, Shadow Tokens, and Shadow Oracle deck required to play Night Hunters?
No. These add-ons are entirely optional. Night Hunters and Night Terrors can be run at your table without them.
That said, the book includes new rules and mechanics designed to integrate with these physical components, and they can enhance atmosphere, tension, and immersion.

Is Night Hunters appropriate for all ages?
While dark and horror-based, Night Hunters maintains a PG-13 content guideline. The game is designed for horror-focused gameplay and includes dark themes, frightening imagery, and mature narrative elements typical of the genre.

Can I upgrade my pledge and still keep the 48-hour d6 Blood Die?
Absolutely! All pledges are time-stamped from the time you join the project, so we’ll know whether you made the deadline. It will not appear in your rewards on Kickstarter, but it will absolutely be included when your rewards ship.

Can I add a Limited Edition version of the book as an add-on?
No, the Limited Edition books are only available as part of a reward tier. They cannot be added separately and are only sometimes available after the Kickstarter ends.

How is the Shadow Oracle Tarot deck used in-game?
The Shadow Oracle Deck contains 56 tarot-sized cards in a single rectangular hinge box with a magnetic closure. Each card features original artwork by Damjan Gjorgievski, created specifically for Night Hunters.
While the Shadow Oracle deck is not required to play Night Hunters, it can be used for both a fortunetelling tool and to play a fast, in-world mini-game called Shadowjack. Both can heighten immersion and add narrative kick to your game sessions.

What will shipping cost?
The shipping team has provided rough estimates based on the current global shipping rates in the “Shipping & Tariffs” section of the project. Final shipping prices will be calculated after the Kickstarter closes. However, here are the current best estimates in CAD if you pledge for both books only:
Australia & New Zealand: C$41–$63 Canada: C$41–$49 EU & UK: C$17–$45 United States: C$21–$27 (varies by weight)
Other international destinations: $70–$236 (either air freight or international priority mail)
These are estimates only, based on current container and postal rates, and are subject to change. Many postal systems change their rates at the New Year. If these shipping costs are prohibitive, consider buying from your local game store after release. Asking for Kobold Press books locally can lead to bulk store orders, improved distribution, and, ultimately, more affordable shipping for fans around the world.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
